RITUAL COFFEE

Bringing a new product line to life for a San Francisco staple.

After designing their iconic logo mark back in 2005 and their packaging over the years, we at Good Stuff Partners were thrilled when they came back to us to develop a creative concept for their new line of cold coffees. Ritual is a true San Francisco Original and is one of the things that makes them so unique, so we knew we’d make that the focus of the big idea.

Each drink is inspired by an SF neighborhood where Ritual has a presence, like the Mission District, where its flagship coffee shop remains, or SoMA, where they roast their beans. We developed whimsical scenes, pulling together both recognizable landmarks as well as hidden easter eggs that only locals would remember or know. The result is a magical blend of old and new in a slightly nostalgic, psychedelic style.

Everything about this project had to be true to SF; we found an immensely talented illustrator, Galine, who's rooted in the city, and tasked her with putting our ideas to pen and paper. Her style was perfect for capturing and blending all the elements we wanted while remaining graphic and punchy for packaging. We took her artwork, added color, adjusted the layout to accommodate all the functional bits for print, and sent it off to production.

The result has been fun to experience, and we couldn't be more thrilled. When the product line debuted at SF Coffee Fest, it was clear that there was nothing else like it, and we were overwhelmed with how much love it received. Like Ritual itself, these ready-to-drinks are a San Francisco original.
